| MLB Betting – Angels Saddled With Two Of Most Overpaid Players In Baseball |
|
Any talk about the most overpaid players in baseball has to begin and end on the west coast, where the Los Angeles Angels are saddled with the contract of former Toronto Blue Jays’ slugger Vernon Wells. While his play in center field has always been solid, Wells is nowhere close to worth the $18 million that he will make this season. The 32-year old is hitting .221 this season with 14 RBI and 35 home runs, and while those numbers aren’t awful it is impossible to justify the sports betting money that he is making based on that contract. Wells isn’t the only mega deal that is really hurting the Angels either, as Scott Kazmir is on the books for millions despite his 27.00 ERA. Kazmir was solid for the Tampa Bay Rays and earned a massive contract with Los Angeles, but as is the case more often than not the free agent signing has not lived up to his billing. A couple of other overpaid players from around the league include Jason Bay of the New York Mets and his $16 million deal, as well as Rafael Furcal and his $12 million that he is scheduled to make from a Los Angeles Dodgers’ team that has been taken over by MLB betting officials. The city of Chicago understands how bad overpaid contracts can hurt a team with both the Cubs and White Sox. While Alfonso Soriano is easily overpaid for the Cubs, his deal doesn’t compare to the recently signed Adam Dunn for the White Sox, who is making $12 million this season, which averages out to over $500,000 per home run. |
