Top MLB Prospects Making An Impact During Spring Training

March Madness betting is the second biggest money maker for the Las Vegas sportsbooks after the Super Bowl. The college basketball tournament also signals the beginning of Spring training, which for most sports betting online fans is their favorite time of year. Here are three prospects expected to make an immediate impact this season.

Bryce Harper OF Washington Nationals - Bryce Harper was the first overall pick in the 2010 first year entry draft. While 2009 first overall pick Stephen Strasburg recovers from Tommy John surgery, Bryce Harper will attempt to provide the Washington Nationals fan base with the type of hope they haven't seen from the offense in quite some time.

Known as an offensive beast, Bryce Harper's goal during the 2011 Spring training season, is to flat out make it as difficult as possible for the Nationals to send him to down to single A to start his career. Harper's main area for concern thus far is his defense, as he needs to perfect that part of his game before he can be considered a true part of the opening day roster.

Jeremy Hellickson P Tampa Bay Rays - Hellickson is the Rays top prospect, and at 23 years old stands to become the most likely candidate for a starting job of the three prospects on this list. This is no betonline com scam -- in the minors Hellickson tore it up, going 49 - 16 with a 2.71 ERA and nine point eight strikeouts per nine innings.

While the Rays would like to start Hellickson off in the number five slot of the starting rotation, he could make it very difficult for the team not to slot him in as the number two behind David Price. When the ROY nominations come up at season's end, Hellickson will be at the top of the list.

JP Arencibia C Toronto Blue Jays - For the first time since Pat Borders in 1993, the Toronto Blue Jays have a true prospect at the catching position. Over the last few years, the Jays have constantly brought in catchers in need or a second chance. However, this year appears to be the year that the team commits to allowing one of its younger talents the opportunity to learn at the major league level.

Despite limited time in September, we all saw that Arencibia can hit the ball no problem. However, like Bryce Harper, Arencibia main problem is the defensive mechanics side of the ball. If he can improve on his defense, Arencibia might be the next Joe Mauer.
