Reyes on Schedule to Return This Weekend

One of the top shortstops in the game today will be making his scheduled return to the New York Mets just in time for this weekend's game against the Washington Nationals, while the PGA Tour Masters betting gets underway. After missing most of the 2009 season because of hamstring injuries, Jose Reyes started the 2010 season on the Disabled List after suffering from a thyroid condition that kept the Mets' star out for most of spring training. Injuries decimated the team's playoff hopes just one season ago, and it will be important for New York to field a healthy unit this cajose reyesmpaign as they look to finally return to the postseason.

Reyes went two-for-five with two walks in an online sports betting spring training game on Tuesday night, and told team officials that he felt he was able to return and contribute to his team. However, because he started the season on the DL, Reyes will not be eligible to make his return until Saturday against Washington, when the NHL odds season gets set to wrap up.

While Reyes has been out allowing his injury to heal, Alex Cora has filled in at shortstop and is expected to start again when the Mets play the Florida Marlins on Wednesday night. 20-year old shortstop Ruben Tejada could see his first start sometime this week before Reyes makes his official return.

The Mets won their sportsbook opener over the Marlins 7-1.
